Don’t Let AB2395 Ruin Our 911 Service

AB2395 wants to rob all of our homes of our sacred emergency communications!

Therefore, we must preserve our California speedy 911 home landline services, before it passes.

Seniors and all Californians, please call all of the members of this Assembly Committee [as stated below, in this CARA  Alert segment], this week.  Tell each one that you urge them to VOTE NO ON AB 2395.

CARA Alert – May 24, 2016

AT&T WANTS TO ELIMINATE YOUR HOME PHONE SERVICE!
TELL THE ASSEMBLY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE TO
VOTE NO ON AB2395 – CALL TODAY

AT&T and other phone companies want to eliminate landlines and force everyone to use only cell phones.  Your life could depend on having a landline in your home.  911 calls go directly to local law enforcement agencies from your home phone.  911 calls from cell phones may go to the highway patrol or other locations and delay a response.  Landlines tell emergency responders exactly where you are located so they can send help immediately.  If your power goes out, home phone landlines still work for days and don’t need to be recharged.  And landlines don’t drop calls and have service coverage gaps like cell phones.  For seniors and all residents, landlines are lifelines.  But AT&T does not want to replace the copper lines that service your home phone so they are asking the legislature to allow them to discontinue providing landline service.  We must tell them NO.
The Assembly Appropriations Committee will be voting to pass this proposal to the full Assembly this week.  We must not let this bill pass.  Please call ALL of the members of this committee.  Tell each one that you urge them to VOTE NO ON AB 2395 and protect seniors and all Californians!
